How this differs from our other embroidered lawn
This is the top tier, and the difference is coverage rather than base fabric. The broader embroidered range starts at Rs.5,100 and includes lighter designs where the work concentrates on the front panel. The suits here carry embroidery across sleeves, borders and dupatta as well — slower to produce, and where the price difference actually comes from.
If you want the embroidered look for less, start with the wider embroidered range, Eleganza for the ready-to-wear version from Rs.3,840, or chikankari lawn from Rs.5,950. For plain printed lawn, K Prints starts at Rs.2,250.
The two series here
- Surkhru — our signature embroidered lawn, Rs.9,000 from an original Rs.15,000. The heaviest work in the summer range. Surkhru also runs an embroidered dobby line from Rs.5,999 if you want the same hand at a lower price.
- Dastak — embroidered lawn at Rs.8,999, a lighter alternative to Surkhru with the same 3-piece format.
What you are paying for
Three things separate a Rs.9,000 embroidered suit from a Rs.5,000 one, and none are obvious from a front-facing photograph:
- The dupatta. An embroidered dupatta costs far more to produce than a plain one, and this is where most of the price gap sits.
- Sleeve and border work. Front-only embroidery is much cheaper. Check whether the listing shows the sleeves.
- Stitch density. Close, even work reads as considered; sparse motifs scattered to cover ground are the cheap tell.
Stitching
Heavily embroidered lawn is worth having stitched by whoever sells it — panels have to be cut and matched around the work, and a tailor who gets that wrong cannot undo it.
