Khaddar is the warmest of Pakistan's winter fabrics — a dense, matte woven cotton with a traditional hand, made for genuine cold rather than a chilly evening. Kleren's khaddar comes two ways: Mehr-O-Maah digital printed unstitched 3-piece suits at Rs.3,920, and NOVA stitched dyed khaddar 2-piece suits, ready to wear in XS–XL, at Rs.4,550. Both are 30% off. Cash on Delivery and free delivery across Pakistan.

What khaddar actually is

Khaddar is woven rather than brushed. That is the whole difference: where dhanak gets its warmth from a raised, fleecy surface, khaddar gets it from a denser weave and heavier yarn. The result is a fabric with more body, a matte finish, and considerably more durability — khaddar survives seasons of wear that would flatten a brushed fabric.

It is the traditional winter cloth of upper Punjab and KP, and it is still what people reach for where winter is a real season rather than a few cold weeks.

Khaddar, karandi or dhanak?

Khaddar Karandi Dhanak
Warmth Warmest Medium-warm Warm, soft
Surface Matte, woven Slub, textured Brushed, fleecy
Durability Highest Good Softens with wear
Best for Real cold, hard wear Dressier winter wear Everyday comfort

Rule of thumb: if you are in Islamabad, upper Punjab or the north, khaddar earns its place. Through Lahore and central Punjab, karandi and dhanak carry most of the season. In Karachi and the south, khaddar will rarely leave the cupboard. Our winter fabric guide and karandi guide compare all three in detail.

Khaddar suit prices

  • Mehr-O-Maah Vol-3 — unstitched digital printed khaddar 3-piece (shirt, trouser, dupatta), Rs.3,920, reduced from Rs.5,600.
  • NOVA — stitched dyed khaddar 2-piece (shirt and trouser), ready to wear in XS, S, M, L and XL, Rs.4,550, reduced from Rs.6,500.

Across the market, unbranded khaddar cloth runs roughly Rs.2,000–3,500 for a 3-piece and branded printed or embroidered khaddar Rs.4,500–8,000.

Khaddar is the most affordable part of our winter range — karandi starts at Rs.6,500 and dhanak at Rs.5,999 — while being the warmest of the three. The unstitched Mehr-O-Maah suits can be stitched to your measurements for Rs.2,500. Everything currently reduced is in the Kleren sale, and the winter range is in the winter sale.

Caring for khaddar — the shrinking question

Khaddar is a cotton weave and it will shrink in hot water. This is the single most common complaint about the fabric and it is entirely avoidable: wash cold, never tumble dry, and dry in shade. Many tailors deliberately cut khaddar a little generous for exactly this reason — worth mentioning to yours.

Otherwise it is the most forgiving winter fabric you can own. It takes a hot iron better than dhanak, does not pill, and looks better after a season than it did new.

A small, fast-moving range

We restock khaddar through the season rather than carrying a large standing range, so the selection here changes and can be thin between deliveries. If nothing suits today it is worth checking back, or look at dhanak and karandi for a wider winter choice right now.

Khaddar Suits — FAQs

Is khaddar good for winter?

Yes — it is the warmest of the three main Pakistani winter fabrics, and the most durable. Best suited to genuine cold rather than mild weather.

How much does a khaddar suit cost in Pakistan?

From Rs.3,920 for a printed unstitched 3-piece here, or Rs.4,550 for a stitched 2-piece. Across the market, unbranded cloth runs Rs.2,000–3,500 and branded embroidered khaddar Rs.4,500–8,000.

Khaddar or dhanak — what is the difference?

Khaddar is a denser woven cotton, matte and hard-wearing, and warmer in real cold. Dhanak is brushed, softer against the skin and lighter to wear.

Does khaddar shrink?

Yes, in hot water. Wash cold, dry in shade, and never tumble dry. Many tailors cut it slightly generous to allow for it.

Are these suits stitched or unstitched?

Both. Mehr-O-Maah is unstitched 3-piece (shirt, trouser and dupatta), with stitching to your measurements for Rs.2,500. NOVA is stitched 2-piece (shirt and trouser), ready to wear in sizes XS–XL.

When does khaddar go on sale?

Winter fabrics see first reductions around November and clear December to February, when prices are lowest but selection is thinnest.

Do you offer Cash on Delivery?
